Coastal
Georgia Regional Development Center began operation in 1964.
Regional Development Centers (RDCs) are multi-county planning
and development agencies serving municipal and county
governments. The Coastal Georgia RDC serves 10 counties and 35
cities. The region encompasses the six coastal counties and four
inland counties and has a total land area of over 5,110 square
miles.
The Coastal Georgia RDC provides local and regional
comprehensive planning services as well as specialized planning
services in transportation, water resources, and historic
preservation. We also serve as the Economic Development District
for Coastal Georgia and the
Area Agency on Aging.
