Senior Services: Caregivers Support Program...
When an older adult becomes mentally or physically disabled, the impact on the caregivers can be life-altering. The most routine task, such as eating or dressing, becomes frustrating and exhausting for both parties. Simple errands are impossible when a caregiver cannot leave the disabled person unattended. Whether the caregiver is a spouse, friend or family member, the task of around-the-clock, around-the-calendar care is too overwhelming to manage alone.
The Coastal Georgia Regional Development Center’s Area Agency on Aging (AAA) assists older adults and their caregivers by making referrals for a wide range of services delivered in the home and in the community. These services, funded through Federal, state and local sources, are contracted through local providers.
