Senior Services:  Help in the Community...

After years of leading a productive life in a family and the community, people over 60 are often faced with new problems. Loss of a spouse, separation from usual support systems as adult children move away from home, managing on a limited income and limitations from health changes can seriously challenge an older adult’s resources. Fortunately, there are a number of services available in the community that address issues for seniors directly connected with aging.

Services Offered in the Community Include:

  • Group meals served in a Senior Citizen Center
  • Senior Center Activities that offer opportunities for socialization and recreation
  • Educational Programs that present information on a wide range of topics of interest to seniors, including nutrition, consumer protection, and crime prevention
  • Health insurance counseling to assist in determining eligibility, processing claims and to offer advocacy
  • Legal assistance including counseling and representation by an attorney
  • Transportation
  • Volunteer recruitment
