Senior Services: Elder Rights...

Older Americans are increasingly concerned with the protection of their legal rights. Changing life situations as well as unscrupulous businesses and individuals who target seniors can leave an older person in a vulnerable position. The Coastal Georgia Regional Development Center’s Area Agency on Aging (AAA) offers programs to older residents to address these concerns.

Legal services for seniors include:

Consumer protection and crime prevention
Health insurance and benefits counseling (GeorgiaCares) to help with eligibility, claims and advocacy issues
Long Term Care Ombudsman Program that provides advocacy and support to protect the rights of residents of long-term care facilities
Elder abuse prevention educational programs
