Senior Services:  Help at Home...

When asked their preference about living arrangements, the over whelming majority of older adults express a strong desire to stay in their own homes for as long as possible.

In many cases, seniors simply need a little help to allow them to exercise control over their living situations and remain at home. The Coastal Georgia Regional Development Center’s Area Agency on Aging (AAA) assists older adults by making referrals for services delivered in the home that allow seniors to maintain their dignity and independence.

In-home services include:

  • Nutrition Services includes home-delivered meals and nutritional counseling
  • Homemaker Assistance with preparing meals, shopping, money management and light housework
  • Personal Assistance for persons unable to perform routine grooming and personal care tasks
  • Respite Care to offer a brief period of rest to caregivers of disabled persons cared for in the home
  • Health Care including nursing and rehabilitative care; speech, physical and occupational therapy; purchasing medical supplies and equipment
  • Emergency Response provides routine monitoring electronic communication support systems
  • Financial Assistance to aid in the payments for housing, utilities, food, clothing, eyeglasses, dental care, etc.
