Historic Preservation...

The Coastal Georgia Regional Development Center provides historic preservation planning services with funding from member communities and the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR).

The services include:

  • Conduct quarterly meetings of the Coastal Region Historic Preservation Advisory Council (HPAC)
  • Prepare and update an inventory of historic properties in the region
  • Assist DNR in Section 106* review of development projects
  • Provide technical assistance to local governments on preparation of:
     
    1. Cultural Resource Elements of Comprehensive Plans
    2. Historic Property Surveys
    3. National Register of Historic Places nominations
    4. Historic Preservation Grant applications
    5. Historic Preservation Tax Incentive applications
       
  • Maintain and disseminate information on a wide array of historic preservation programs and initiatives
